Cheats & Ladders
Snakes and Ladders was first introduced into the world by 2nd century Indians as Moksha Patam to illustrate a journey from lowly vice towards majestic enlightenment by communicating ideals of virtue, morality and above all, destiny.
If only they could see what has become of their precious creation now! Get ready for "CHEATS and Ladders"!
You know the rules surely: move your game piece from square one all the way up to square 100 to win the game, chutes pull you down if you land on them, ladders let you climb up faster! This time however, both players take it in turns to select one chute or ladder by left-clicking on their black selection circle and then moving it anywhere they like on the board by shifting the mouse and left-clicking again!
Once players see their dice rolls, a choice MUST be made before both player's tokens move at the same time together. Good luck!
(This game was made in roughly four days for the 2024 GMTK Patreon Jam with the theme "Bending The Rules", so I will be working on visual polish in my spare time. Also, be on the lookout for bugs: one is that you can manipulate the board behind the start screen before the game begins lol)
