There should be gamepad support; we tested the whole game with it (it does use the d-pad for movement to create parity with pre-dualshock tank control games from the early 3D era though, so there's that)
Will there ever be a version for Mac users? Its a shame most of these really cool indie horror games can't be expanded to Mac, I know I'd be all over that!
The easiest way to make an Unreal Engine game for Mac at the moment is to build a dedicated project executable using an actual Mac computer but unfortunately, neither I nor StageFryte have direct access to Mac systems.
That'll probably be less likely, as I'm not sure I'm personally familiar with anyone who has a Linux based system to build the project from (and also I don't have the money for one myself haha)
Only issue I'm having at the moment is using the crucifix against the white demon/Michael Davies in the forest. It doesn't seem very responsive when I click my mouse to bring it up. Still it's a really cool way to make Faith look.
Thanks for playing! Sadly no plans on doing the other chapters as there would be lots or legal grey area around fully remaking a game that is sold for money, not to mention the sheer amount of work that was needed just to make the first one a reality. We'd likely need a larger team and some proper business backing from Airdorf and New Blood to realise the entire Unholy Trinity in 3D.
Game is absolutely amazing- hella good 64ified remake of chapter 1 ^^
and uh, forgive me if this is a silly question , but is there a possibility to add a VHS CRT mode for this game, to emulate the tvs of the 90s? I lowkey super love any videos or pc games that use a VHS CRT filter for its screen >w>
That’s exactly what I attempted to do for the default screen filter (this can be turned on and off in the settings menu) though the effect may differ depending on the size of your maximum resolution display.
I got my external monitor set to 1440x1080 to get them 4:3 resolution going, black bars and all- it's how i prefer the resolution to be for my computer, monitor, and all my games xD im a weirdo
Not weird at all lol (that would only enhance the effect imo)
I actually pondered the idea of including a 4:3 option at one brief point but then decided that users can probably do that kind of stuff on their own (case in point, you) without the game itself screwing with their set up or adding artificial black bars to constrain the carefully adjusted field of view settings.
it's hard to tell if the game is set to 4:3 because of my resolution or not ^^; and i dont have any program to stretch out this game to be 4:3 i can probably look it up!
Faith 64 is an incredible version of the original game. Really impressive. Congratulations to the developers for the faithful version. ALL ENDINGS + SECRET BOSS:
I think this game I played was a masterpiece. I haven't played the original FAITH, but I thought I should try playing the original FAITH through this game. It was really fun and great. thank you
The portion of the final boss where she zooms at you seems to be bugged. It's either too precise or does not work. I tried twenty times. I am pretty damn sure I aimed at her, but I still died.
The general rule is that Any can only be affected by the cross if she’s not invisible and not flying; so standing in one position open for attack is the best time to “aim at her” if that’s what you mean.
Gave it a Let's Play and (Hopefully?) got all Endings! (X and the 'Hidden one' ?) I liked the framing in the cutscenes in how it shows what it needs to show.
This was such a fun time! It feels very Silent Hill / RE, and exploring the woods/house with a new perspective was great. All the cutscenes really make this feel like a totally different experience.
One thing that was extremely frustrating though was the final Amy boss. I got stuck there for a while, and if I didn't instantly move when respawning, I'd die immediately. It feels like it needs to be toned down ever so slightly.
Overall though, this is fantastic work and I'd love to see the rest of the game in this style!
Thanks for the kind words! Did you play the 1.05 version of the game or the newest 1.06? Because I bumped the difficulty down a bit for that version (less health for Amy, slower enemy walking speeds, grey demon no longer flies out during the second phase etc)
(okay Google Translate, don’t fail me now…) Aby tak się stało, potrzebowałbym mobilnego SDK dla Unreal Engine, którego niestety nie mam. Przepraszam :(
A honestly great remake. Even scarier than the original in my opinion. If you guys could get the okay to remake the other episodes, I'd def throw money at this.
Boss was trial and error which made me grumpy but once you figure out the pattern it's all good. One of those you gota die a bit to understand. Overall though, this is a fantastic fangame and I'd love to see more. Even the controls i got used to quick. I can do tank controls but the mouse turning threw me off at first.
However I did find one hilarious glitch. Having the gun makes you invulnerable to death by pasty.
As a suggestion, You could use Half Life's VOX announcer (1998) for voicelines like John Ward's. You could add it as an option for the player, so you won't have to replace the original voicelines.
The VOX announcer seems like it has very limited capability that wouldn't be able to capture the variety of customised voice synthesis samples from the original game and further, I don't know if Valve would approve of that decision lol
I did suggest new synthesiser sources early in development to reflect the meta time period jump from 1980s to 1990s, but we soon decided that the original lines were too distinctive and iconic to 'Faith' as a whole.
I see. But as I said before: you could add the new voicelines, and from settings/options, let the player choose between the original voicelines and the new ones.
Besides, there's no need for the new voicelines to sound similar nor natural, since the original voicelines sounds very unnatural/robotic by themself. They just need the new ones to fit with 90s and Faith's atmosphere; I chose the VOX announcer as a suggestion for that reason, and I think Valve is reasonable enough to give you permission if you ask them (I can accept other alternatives, thought).
Hi, I played your fan game, and I have some complaints. I enjoyed it, I liked the graphics, and I loved the cutscenes in particular (except for Michael's death, that was a weird one). However, this game was very frustrating to play in some instances, and I would like you to consider them if you're going to make an update or remake the other chapters.
The first issue I have is with the house part. I had a lot of issues with Amy. The first one is that she wouldn't appear after I left the bed. I had to walk around the house so many times for her to maybe appear in one room. And the second issue is the boss fight, particularly the part when the hand comes out of her face. I couldn't see the circles well, and how they are drawn was confusing to me. In the end, I think I figured it out. I think the circle is being drawn where you stand at a particular moment, but I'm not sure.
The second issue for me was finding the deer. I walked over the map so many times, and after half an hour, I realized it was the two white dots. If you're going to make an update to this, please use the deer model instead of those two dots.
The last issue is the controls. I got used to the camera, but I wish that I was able to move it in the forest part. Also, the option to toggle keys is a must in this. I kept pressing the space bar to use the cross and the gun because I was used to it in the original Faith, only to be brought to the menu screen now.
The game is still fantastic, and I would love to see you make remakes of the other chapters. But these things I mentioned were very frustrating to me and I would like you to keep them in mind.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the game! The controls and camera were bound the way they were in the game to emulate classic 3D horror games like Resident Evil and Eternal Darkness, so including a moveable camera would have required a completely different direction from the one that StageFryte and I ended up taking. Various other visual creative decisions were undertaken by us as a way to tie up loose ends from the main game and possibly clarify emotional details (John decides to shoot a deer because he’s scared and all he sees of it are two glowing eyes for eg).
You’re right about the third phase of the Amy fight though: the player needs to move out of the way before Amy finishes her red hand animation or else the circle of red symbols will get the player. It can be a pretty difficult fight though and I don’t blame you for being frustrated. I felt it would be more frustrating though if Amy appeared while the player was scaling the stairs as the crucifix doesn’t point up or down, so I had to limit her to random appearances on designated areas of the house.
Jury is still out on whether we will remake the other chapters without official blessing and/or money because there would be a lot of legal grey area involved. If that happened, we would definitely tone down the camera movements in places similar to the forest which I designed to be intentionally disorienting to try and approximate the original games feeling of being lost without the semi-random map layout.
Your feedback is very insightful and valuable however, and we’re glad you still found some enjoyment in Faith 64 anyway in spite of your grievances.
This will be addressed imminently in the next hot fix. Thank you for your kind words and your feedback! (EDIT: decided to bump up the total number of Michael expulsions from ten to eleven 😎)

Very Amazing Remake :)
I have found all of the notes and got all of the endings and all I can say for this fine fan game is: "Amen"
🙏✝️
Cracking good work on the 3d remake of Chapter 1. Are you planning chapters 2 + 3?

I hope you get that support. The 64bit versions adds a new perspective to the experience. :)

Michael spawned inside the house while I was outside and ate me. Spin cross strat kinda op. All endings are amazing.

This is a really good adaptation of Ch 1 of Faith. Nice job. I hope you do the other 2 chapters.

I feel a little silly but I can’t find the button to download the game
That's because I was working on the latest hotfix: you should see it now.
I see it now. Thanks!
Is it gone again?
It was, now it's back with a new hotfix (V1.05)
Incredible work! This is very impressive!
